Train Banks

The BHS Band Boosters distributes train banks to all band students. Collect your loose change or have a local business collect loose change for you!

Car Washes

Car washes are held at Roy Rogers on Souder Road and be from 10 AM to 2 PM. This is a good fundraiser for the band and an excellent way for incoming freshman to get to know other band members in the summer before band camp begins.

Family Nights

The Band Boosters will be holding family nights at various local restaurants. These restaurants have agreed to give us a portion of their proceeds from that evening. The more people we can get to eat out on those evenings, the more money we make!

Letter Writing Campaign

The BHS Band Boosters is holding a Letter Campaign as a fundraiser to help support our Band program. Each student is to provide addresses for at least 10 people who may support the band with a tax-deductible donation. Letters will be sent out to these potential sponsors.

Silent Auction

The BHS Band Boosters obtains donated items from local businesses and individuals to auction off at the Winter and Spring Concerts. Silent bids are taken before the concert and at intermission. Winning bids are announced during the concert.

T-Shirt Ads & Sales

Each band member purchases a t-shirt that has a BHMR logo and theme for this year’s show. These t-shirts are worn when doing fundraisers and at the Point of Rocks Founder’s Day Parade. Band students also wear these t-shirts to competitions to show their school spirit and loyalty to the band. As a fundraiser, the BHS band boosters sells advertising space on the back of the shirts. You can sponsor the band by being either a Friend of the Band or a Corporate Sponsor.

Tag Day

Tag Day is one of our biggest fundraisers. Band students go door-to-door and ask for contributions to the band. We hold Tag Day in three areas: Jefferson, Brunswick, and Point of Rocks. The Parent Chair assigns teams, locations to cover, and maps. We pair up inexperienced members with experienced ones. Band students either collect donations directly or provide people with flyers and envelopes for mailing donations back to the band.

Carnivals

The BHS band runs carnival games during each night of the Burkittsville Carnival and the Jefferson Carnival.

Competition Ticket Sales

For every marching band competition to which we travel, host schools provide us with tickets to their competition to compensate for our travel costs. These tickets cost us nothing. As a fundraiser, we sell these tickets at a discounted rate over what you would pay at the gate. If you buy tickets from us, all proceeds go to the BHS marching band. If you buy tickets at the gate, all proceeds go to the host school. Remember to buy them from the BHS Band Boosters! We sell tickets on competition days when you drop band students off for rehearsal and when we load the trailer.

Take the ACC Train Competition

The BHS Band Boosters will be hosting a Tournament of Bands (TOB) competition at Brunswick High School on Saturday, October 25th at 11 AM. This competition will feature regional marching bands trying to qualify for the Atlantic Coast Championships on November 8th and 9th. This will be the third consecutive year we have hosted the competition.
