2007 Group I Atlantic Coast Invitational Champions
Brunswick High Marching Railroaders
Congratulations to our Marching Railroaders for taking home the 2007 Group I Atlantic Coast
Invitational Championship!!! With a score of 89.15, the Marching Railroaders placed 1st out of 5
bands and also won trophies for Best Drum Major, Best Music, and Best Visual. What a great season!
Congratulations to Mr. Groen and his staff for putting together an award winning show! Thanks to all
of our band students for all of your hard work throughout the last few months. You will always be
champions! Thanks as well to the Boosters for supporting our award-winning band!
Our 2007 show is based around Leonardo Da Vincis conceptual drawing Vitruvian Man.
The drawing itself is often interpreted as an implied symbol of the symmetry of the human body,
which, in turn, is a comparison to the universe as a whole. The material and spiritual existence
is represented by three characteristics. Structure, symbolizing material existence, is characterized
by fast rhythms and scattered shapes. Balance, symbolizing spiritual existence, is characterized by
harmonic structures and smooth melodies. These two movements converge into Harmony, where the spiritual
and physical aspects of human nature combine. The Brunswick High School Marching Railroaders are proud
to bring you a musical experience you will not forget!
